COMPANY: GMR Marketing | CLIENT: Xfinity - esports, Evil Geniuses
CONTEXT: Xfinity sponsors the esports organization Evil Geniuses. The sponsorship includes providing internet service and Xfinity X1 video products. Xfinity also receives branding on team jerseys, social media, and live streams.
TASK: Clinton "Fear" Loomis was considered the Dota 2 GOAT before retiring in 2016. For his return to the game, GMR Marketing partnered with Xfinity to create an animated video exploring the history behind Evil Geniuses' bearded super gamer – to be posted on social media platforms. Design style was loose and sketchy, to convey the personal story of Fear.
MY ROLE: Concept, storyboard, animatic (edit), design and animation; I worked with designer Mario Hixon to plan the story, find reference imagery, and develop compositions for seamless transitions. I also created a storyboard and animatic, designed scenes and animated the full video.
