Journal of the American Chemical Society: Cover

Final Image
CONTEXT: This work was Commissioned by Professor Varinder K. Aggarwal FRS, School of Chemistry at the University of Bristol. It was submitted and accepted as the cover design for a published article in the Journal of the American Chemical Society (JACS). The image shows a hypothetical molecular assembly line where reagents are effectively added to a growing carbon chain with extraordinary high fidelity and precision. By controlling the precise orientation of the building blocks added to the carbon chain, the conformation of the molecule can be controlled so that it adopts a helical (shown) or linear shape.
Image published as the cover image in the Journal of the American Chemical Society: April 8, 2015 - Volume 137, Issue 13.
MY ROLE: I collaborated with one of the chemists involved in writing the published article to ensure the imagery conveyed the accurate chemistry.
